Ongoing Prayer Requests
We count on your prayer support.
Here are some requests for the month of January:
1. The first semester at the Portuguese Bible Institute ends at the end of January. All of us, students and professors, appreciate your prayers in order to finish the semester well. It is also a time of preparation for the second semester and we need your prayers as we prepare syllabi for the courses to be taught. I am scheduled to teach the Gospel of John and the book of Revelation, as well as Introduction to the New Testament and to NT Greek.
2. PBI is also working on a major fund raising campaign to raise additional funds for student scholarships in order to attract more residential students. Pray for wisdom and good responses as we make contacts.
3. Are you still praying for Marisa, wife of our student Cassius? Her surgery went well in December and we are praying for good recovery and that the Lord would enable her body to gain strength. Please pray that her health problems would be completely resolved. In the meantime Cassius continues to study almost full time and work full time and prepare to assume the role as pastor of his local church! Pray for sustaining grace for him.
4. Valmor Quintani still needs more financial support (about 500 euros per month) and a car to facilitate travel. Pray for the sale of his car in
5. Local church (Igreja Evangélica de Benfica): Pray for Terri as she teaches children’s Sunday School and for
6. Many people often ask about our daughter Debbie and her husband Brian: Both are involved in youth ministry at their local church. Brian is also taking classes at Lancaster Bible college and has returned to coaching a high school lacrosse team. Debbie continues her work as a nurse in the ICU of Lancaster General Hospital. They sense that the Lord is leading them towards Missions and are beginning to take initial steps. We know they would appreciate your prayers.
7. Thanks for continuing to pray in regard to our personal financial support. On the positive side, giving was strong in the month of December. This will help us finish the year in the black. We still need additional pledges to bring us up to our recommended support level. Thanks for continuing to pray for this as well. Because of the support of so many, we are able to devote ourselves to ministry here in
May the Lord multiply his grace toward you in 2010.
